Once I arrive in Marrakech, how do I get to the riad?
We are inside the medina, in an area not accessible to cars. Navigating the intricate streets of a medina can be challenging for first-time visitors. Without a clear sense of direction, one may fall victim to false guides. Contact us before your arrival, and we can organize a car with driver to pick you up wherever you are. Remember that we offer a free transfer in the city if you book directly from the site.
Is it possible to organize a transfer service to the airport or station? What is the cost?
Certainly! We can organize ad hoc transfers. Costs vary based on the number of people.
Is the riad far from the centre?
The prime location of Riad Alkemia in the heart of the medina of Marrakech makes it a convenient choice for travelers. With just a 15 minute walk to the square and less than 5 minutes to attractions like Medersa Ben Youssef and 3 from the Secret Gardens, guests can easily explore the cultural gems of the city without having to venture far.
Is there parking?
We are in a limited traffic area of the medina. However, the closest parking is only 1 min away of walking distance from the riad.
What time is check in and check out?
Check in is scheduled for 2pm. While for check out we ask to leave the rooms by 10am. If and when possible, we offer early check-ins or late check-outs free of charge. If this is not possible, our free luggage storage service is available.
Is there luggage storage available?
The luggage of departing or arriving customers can be stored free of charge.
What languages are spoken at the riad?
Our staff speaks English, French and Arabic. For communications in Italian, the management is still available, even if not present on site.
Are children welcome at the riad?
Yes, children are welcome, but we ask their companions to never leave them alone. For children up to 2 years old, we have 2 cots, upon request, which can be placed in the parents’ room for free. Paid babysitting service available on request.
Does the riad have a pool? Is it heated?
The riad has a pool. The pool is not heated, but the water, at room temperature, can still be used for most of the year, given the temperatures.
Does the riad have a hammam? Is it freely accessible?
Yes, the riad has its own hammam. Access is not free. A genuine hammam experience goes beyond just sitting in a steam room. It includes the use of black soap, kessa and ghassoul in a specific procedure. Only someone familiar with the traditional methods can truly bring out the authentic essence of a hammam session. If you prefer to handle things on your own, inform us in advance about when you plan to use the service. This way, we can prepare and heat it up for you beforehand, ensuring a seamless self-service experience.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes, high-speed WI-FI is free and available both in the rooms and in the common areas. Upon your arrival you will receive the instructions to connect.
Can I use the kitchen?
For hygiene and safety reasons, the kitchen is off-limits. However, if you require the use of the fridge, feel free to do it.
What time is the staff present?
Our staff’s round-the-clock presence ensures efficient service and safety monitoring. This dedication provides peace of mind for our clients at all times.

What is the maximum number of people that can stay in a room?
We have a room that can accommodate up to 3 guests. All the others have a maximum of 2 guests.
Are cots/cots available for children? Are they extra?
We have, upon request, 2 cots for children up to 2 years old, at no extra charge. From 3 years old children pay as adults.
Are the rooms equipped with air conditioning/heating?
Yes, all rooms are equipped with air conditioning and heating.
Do the bathrooms have a bathtub or shower?
All bathrooms are equipped with showers only.
Can you smoke in the rooms or in the riad?
No, the hotel is non-smoking. However it is possible to smoke on the second floor terrace.
Is breakfast included? If I want to add it, how much does it cost?
It depends on the rate you chose when booking. In any case, check the booking confirmation and you will see the details. If you had chosen a room only rate and would like to have breakfast, consider an extra € 15.00 per person.
What time is breakfast served?
We try to be as flexible as possible. Breakfast is served from 8.30am (to have it delivered from the pastry shop) until whenever you want. If you have special needs before 8.30am, we are still able to prepare coffee, tea and something simpler.
Is the restaurant buffet or à la carte? What type of cuisine do you offer?
We can manage to serve both buffet and à la carte. We offer a menu with traditional Moroccan dishes. It’s a local cuisine and strictly home-made.
Do you offer menus for coeliacs and/or allergies?
Of course, the riad can provide food for coeliacs or personalized menus. Please let us know when booking.
Do you offer menus for vegetarians and vegans?
The riad can prepare menus for vegetarians and vegans upon prior request to the staff.
Are drinks included or not in the half board and full board menus?
Drinks are never included in any type of rate.
Are high chairs available for children?
Yes, we have a couple of high chairs for children for free.
Will there be other guests besides me?
Rest assured, when you book with us, there will never be other guests besides you. We specialize in exclusive bookings, ensuring a personalized and unique experience just for you. Can I change my booking?
We will be more than happy to change, at any time, the number of guests up to a maximum of 15 adults (+ 2 babies). We do our best to change booking dates, without asking for any additional costs. In case of moving the booking to a period in which the rate is higher, we ask you to pay the difference. However, if the change is not possible, due to lack of availability of the riad, you will be required to respect the original booking or cancellation policy. How can I pay?
For the stays we currently accept payments via Paypal, also by credit card. For extras and tourist taxes cash only and to meet your needs we accept both Moroccan Dirhams and Euros and, when possible, American Dollars.
Do I pay a tourist tax in Marrakech?
Yes, the tourist tax amounts to 23dh per person per night (approximately €2.10). This tax is not included in the price of the stay, and must be paid directly on site, in cash.
